Qingdao Yangcheng District Organizes Touring Guidance for Summer Disease Control of Sea Cucumbers in 　　Recently, technical personnel of Marine Fishery Bureau of Qingdao, Shandong carried out a touring guidance for summer disease control of sea cucumbers in Hongdao and Shangma sea cucumber cultivation areas, and answered questions on spot about pool depth control, bait casting, drug application, pool bottom treatment, breeding depth control and water quality supervision. More than 60 sea cucumber aquaculture farmers and technical backbones received technical guidance; many individual farmers actively participated once informed. Aquaculture farmers expressed that they were happy at such “Sending science and technology to the countryside”, which was well held, timely and significant. 　　Targeting further disease control for sea cucumbers, technical personnel emphasized six management measures during aquaculture: 1. increase water exchange quantity; 2. sterilize pool strictly; 3. define young sea cucumber density reasonably, 5,000/mu for 150-200 sea cucumbers per jin (catty); 4. feed quality bait, reducing decay of wasted bait; 5. inspect often, pick up sick sea cucumbers and treat them in medicine; 6. use medicine scientifically.
