The first cold storage historical reference display building in China opened in Shanghai Fisheries University 　　The first cold storage historical reference display building in China, “Shanghai Cold Storage Historical Reference Display Building” opened in Shanghai Fisheries University on Oct. 29, in which the oldest existent refrigerator in Shanghai was displayed. 　　The “Crown” refrigerator was made in America in 1930s, and was donated by the citizen Mr. Huang. It is about 1.4m high, 0.8m long, and 0.5m wide, with the volume of 80L, which is the oldest existent refrigerator in Shanghai. 　　The Fifth Forum about Fisheries Science & Technology was held in Qingdao Recently, the “Forum about Fisheries Science & Technology 2007” was held in Qingdao, which was sponsored by the Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, and more than 300 experts and scholars from 16 countries and regions and other international organizations, such as the World Fish Center, World Wide Fund For Nature (WWF), and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), etc, attended the forum. 　　On the forum, Zhang Hecheng, president of Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, said that the output of aquatic products in China in 2006 reached 52.9 million tons, of which 35.94 million tons were cultured aquatic products, which accounted for 68% of the total output. Therefore, China had became the only leading fishery country in the world with its cultured output over fishing one. 　　It is said that the Forum about Fisheries Science & Technology is a large international clinic about fishery sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, with the purpose of building an open and high quality platform to make international academic exchanges, enhancing the communication and cooperation of scientific research of fishery in the world, and promoting the development of fishery science, the fishery in China and world fishery. The first Forum about Fisheries Science & Technology was held in Guangzhou in 2003, and the forum would be held in each year from then on, so as to make international academic exchanges about one or several priority fields of fishery science and development. 　　The special topics in the forum included conservation and sustainable utilization of fishery resources, protection and recondition of fishery ecology environment, aquiculture of healthy aquatic products, inheritance and breeding of aquatic products, nutrition and feed of aquatic animals, and processing and quality safety of aquatic products, etc. Many world famous scholars also made special reports about fishery science and technology, including development of marine fishery, fishery management basing on marine ecology, eel breeding and secret of migration, etc.
