| Vietnam exported more fruit and vegetables but less aquatic products to Japan |
Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) said on 25th that the total volume of fruit and vegetables export at present reached USD 230 million, a 17% increase than that of last year. Of which 9% are exported to Japan, its biggest export market.
It is learned that MARD planned to increase its annual volume of fruit and vegetables export to USD 760 million by 2010, with its markets focusing on China, Taiwan, and Asian and Pacific nations, such as South Korea, and Japan, etc.
Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) revealed that the volume of aquatic products export in the last nine months was USD 525.6 million, a 12.2% decline than that of last year. For the problem of aquatic product security and sanitation, most of Japanese importers didn’t import shrimps from Vietnam, and turned to Thailand, India, and Indonesia, etc, instead. |
